If you are a machine tool dealer representative, it’s a good idea to get inbound website links from all of the manufacturers you represent. This will lead browsers to your website. If your manufacturer’s website has a high Google page rank, it will also help your site show better in the search engine results page. Page rank is how Google shows the importance of a web page. Machine tool giants like Okuma, Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori Seiki and Makino all have high Google page ranks and an inbound from them will help increase your own website page rank. However not all machine tool manufacturers have a distributor section on their website. If your manufacturer is one of them, you can still be found in a Google search by editing your own website. Select a an appropriate page on your site an add the following to the page’s title tags and text description: manufacturer’s name area you represent the product add dealer and or distributor type of machinery After the edits are posted and the page has been indexed, you have increased your chances to be searched for “manufacture’s name + area + dealer”. Good luck and if you have any questions contact me at 847-532-0812 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Responsive website designs are becoming the rave thanks to the growth of mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets. We are no longer tied to our desktop computers in order to view a website thanks to these mobile devices. A responsive website design (RWD) allows web developers to use one URL that automatically conforms to the shape of the screen which it’s being viewed on. This makes it easier for browsers to navigate the page from whatever device they are viewing it on. It’s also a much simpler design than creating a separate URL for a tablet and a smart phone and managing the content for each device.

IMTS2014If you are exhibiting at IMTS, now is a good time to create a IMTS 2014 page on your website. By creating a IMTS2014 page a year before the show takes place, is like camping over night for concert tickets. If you get inline the day tickets go on sale, you'll be competing with more people thus decreasing the chances of getting tickets. Google weighs the age of a website page (along with key words) as factors for its search engine results page. IMTS is over a year away but as the show grows closer Google searches will increase. Create a page on your website (www.yourcompany.com/IMTS2014) and post content about what your are exhibiting at the show, demonstrations or special promotions. Be sure to add IMTS2014 to your title, meta, URL tags, branded and non branded key words. Depending on your competition, the search engines may index your site on the first page of the SERP resulting in free PR. Designing a IMTS 2014 web page long before the show begins, will keep you ahead of the competition.
